Installation Guide for Windows 95
Introduction
These instructions for installing UNIBASE Internet on your Windows 95 computer consist of completing 7 steps. Once these steps have been completed, you should be able to connect to UNIBASE using the internal Windows 95 connection capabilities. Please note that this procedure will assist you to install SLIP as the TCP/IP connection method. Among other things, this will permit you to access the 32bit processing and use Netscape 3.x. Some of the steps may already be inplace on your computer. You will want to confirm the step completed, and where this is so, you should be able to skip to the next step.
This set of instructions is graphic based, and for that reason will take time. I have tried to show each screen you will see as you work your way through the process of installation. Also, it is designed with the idea that you should perform the steps while on-line to UNIBASE. It is recommended that you shrink your browser window and keep overlaying the local screen as you procede through the process of doing the installation.
The steps which must be completed are:
- Download the UNIBASE install disks to your computer
- Check Dial-Up Networking is installed
- Install the dial-up adaptor and TCP/IP
- Install SLIP and Dial-up Scripting
- Create a UNIBASE Dial-up Icon
- Install the UNIBASE software
- Edit and Bind the Slipmenu.scp to your dial-up connections.
- Test the connection
Once you have completed the above steps, you should be ready to procede and use your new dial-up capabilities.
